At the World Council of Churches (WCC) Specialized Ministries Pre-assembly, 9-10 March, those gathered came away with a renewed sense of unity in their commitment to compassion, peace and justice.

An Ecumenical Youth Gathering on 27-30 August will convene a circle of young agents of change for the ecumenical movement’s present and future just days before the World Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany. 

The Ecumenical Youth Gathering will comprise three tracks: one especially for young delegates to the WCC 11th Assembly, one for stewards, and one for representatives of WCC member churches and ecumenical partners.
 

A Specialized Ministries Pre-assembly, to be held 9-10 March, will articulate a response to the brokenness and discrimination that threaten creation and the human family.

World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca reflected on the link between climate and justice as he commented on the 6th Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change focusing on “Climate Change 2022: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability.”

A team of young communicators began a comprehensive training programme on 1 March to help them prepare for their roles in telling the stories and carrying the messages from the World Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly.

For each assembly, the central committee submits an accountability report, describing and offering an assessment of the activities of the WCC between the assemblies; in this case, since the 10th Assembly, in Busan, Republic of Korea, in late 2013.

As the series of Bible studies leading up to the WCC 11th Assembly continues, the studies will move through the Lenten season during the next several weeks.
