The WCC’s Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace will have a regional focus on the Europe region in 2022. Accordingly, the 2022 Seven Weeks for Water takes us on a pilgrimage of water justice in Europe.
The reflections will explore diverse water issues affecting the Europe region and bring various perspectives including inequalities, gender, and interfaith, among others.
During Lent in 2022, churches in Europe will have many activities focused on the Seven Weeks for Water. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most activities will be limited to virtual events.
Like previous years, the World Council of Churches has commissioned Biblical-theological reflections and resources on the water crisis in the Europe region, which it is publishing online. We encourage our member churches around the world to use these resources during the Lenten period for small group Bible studies or personal meditations.
The Ecumenical Water Network will organise a series of webinars including the authors of the following reflections.
